Campaigns in full swing as election due on May 4

Jonasland will be off to the polls on the 4th of May, 2025. This will be the first election held on the server since the Third Great Realmplex War.

The incumbent Social Democratic Party, led by JVTA, is running for a second consecutive term in government; if successful, JVTA would be the first president since TaylorWorld in August 2023 to achieve a second consecutive term. The Jonasland Reformist Movement, led by TheAllSeeingBird after its six-election-long winning streak was broken.

Campaigning has already started, and is expected to continue for the remainder of April.

The SDP, to much surprise, have campaigned on lowering the barriers to building in Jonasland. When asked about the policy by the Tribune, JVTA said, "To preserve our nation and our political system, we need to prove that we can echo the sentiments and opinions of the wider world, while maintaining and promoting our way of life."

TaylorWorld, of the JRM, proposed that Jonasland needed to, in fact, increase the barriers to building in Jonasland, to "slow the invasion of cocks". This may have been in reaction to the recent vandalism at the JVTA Statue construction site. JVTA responded by saying that the SDP was opposed to vandalism.

Other topics for debate include maintenance of the trees, relations with other countries, and national security. Both parties appear keen to strengthen Jonasland's relations with the URA. It is not entirely clear yet what the party's policies on the other countries on the server are.

Polls officially open nationwide on 29 April, and close on 5 May.
