Jonasland Navy inaugurates first ship

There was reason for the Armed Forces to be celebrating last night, as the Navy inaugurated the JLS Allium, the first naval craft to be owned by Jonasland. Construction of the ship began sometime between the 2nd and 5th of April, 2024. The ship is a light cruiser, built by the Carrot Republic specifically for use by the Jonasland Armed Forces. It is a member of the Flower class of ships.

Plans for a naval vessel have been long in the works. The original idea for a Jonasland Navy came during JVTA's first term as president. Initial plans for the vessels, however, later stalled. On June 3rd, 2023, president TaylorWorld appointed RoryRDMB, who had great experience with building naval crafts for Carrot, was appointed Naval Construction Minister. Rory was the individual who had proposed the creation of the position.

Speaking to the Tribune today, RoryRDMB said, "I happy to say that Jonasland finally has a naval force. It is a project that I have been hoping to see Jonasland complete for a long time, and the recent victory of the JRM in the elections has presented me with a good opportunity to act on that concept."

The Allium is not the only ship to arrive in Jonasland recently. Yesterday, a Potato trading vessel arrived around Port Primary. It had parked itself in front of the CNS Venture, a Carrot-owned vessel that had been docked in Jonasland since November of 2022.

The Tribune understands there are plans to construct further ships in the Flower class, including the JLS Cornflower. Information about these plans will be released at a further date.
