After seven days of voting, the general elections of October 2024 have concluded. The results have been released by the Jonasland Election Board, and we are now ready to present them.

Turnout was 75% (6 votes), the same as last election. Incumbent president RoryRDMB did not seek re-election to the position.

ELECTORATE VOTE

The Reformist Movement (JRM) has won the electorate vote with 4 votes to the SDP's 2 votes.

When translated to seats, the results are as follows:

  • Jonasland Reformist Movement (JRM) - 14 seats [MAJORITY]

  • Social Democratic Party (SDP) - 6 seats

PRESIDENTIAL VOTE

JRM's candidate for the presidency, TheAllSeeingBird, has won the presidential vote with 4 votes, compared to 2 votes for the SDP's candidate, JVTA. TheAllSeeingBird will therefore be inaugurated as Jonasland's sixth president at midday NZST tomorrow.

IN SUMMARY

The results of the October 2024 election are identical to those of the July 2024 election. The JRM has once again come first, and will form the next government. The SDP is to remain in the opposition.

TheAllSeeingBird is to be the next president. He will succeed RoryRDMB at midday NZDT on 17 October 2024. The vice president and the rest of the cabinet are yet to be selected. JVTA will remain as leader of the opposition unless a leadership change occurs in the SDP.

This concludes our coverage of the October 2024 general elections. The next election is on January 24th, 2025, unless called prior.

EDIT (16/10/2024, 19:14 NZT) - Fixed a mistake in the article that erroneously declared RoryRDMB to have been elected president.
