The Jonasland Reformist Movement, led by TaylorWorld, have comfortably been re-elected by a margin of 20% in the Jonasland elections, defeating the incumbent Social Democratic Party government led by JVTA. The elections were the first to be held under the new system.
Turnout in the election was 62.5%. The JRM received three votes on both ballots, compared to the SDP's two. When converted to seats, the JRM received twelve seats, while the SDP received eight.
The JRM have since reacted positively to the results. Speaking to PMI, TaylorWorld said, "Thanks to everyone who voted for our party, after being out of power in Jonasland for so long it feels good to be back. And I'm sure that we can and we will make Jonasland a better place as we continue in reforming Jonasland."
The SDP have also commented on the results, with JVTA saying, "We at the SDP are disappointed with the results, but we congratulate Taylor and the JRM and wish them all the best for the next 100 days."
The next election will take place on July 8th, 2024.
