The Potato Democrats are demanding the triggering of new elections and a refresher of the political system of the Potato Empire.
In a series of statements released over the past week, the Potato Democrats revealed a proposal called NESPA (New Electoral System for Potato Act). NESPA has been described as a rehash of the current Potato Council rules, with some proposals derived from the aborted Mixed Member Potato project launched after the most recent election in late 2024.
"NESPA is the only way we can restart our democratic systems," JVTA told PMI in a statement today. "For too long we have sat and waited as our democracy remains frozen, our economy remains dormant, and our country remains stagnant."
The Potato Democrats have also made calls for a new election alongside their posts about NESPA. The last election, held in October, saw the Potato Democrats and United Crop Party win equal amounts of seats. SpecShark subsequently became prime minister after JVTA lost in every electorate. Potato had planned to hold another election in March 2025, following a refresh of the electoral rules (the aforementioned Mixed Member Potato), though this was aborted after the Third Great Realmplex War and subsequent loss of Thailand and Bird Land.
Other parties have not commented on NESPA, but at least one has also made a call for a new election, albeit in an informal fashion: Action Party leader McTwoPoint0 recently posted a short message reading "Election when raaah" to the Action Party channel on the Potato Discord.
The UCP, TOP, and RPRP (the three other parties on the register) have not made any recent statements.
