The Potato Empire has voted today to allow the creation of a parliament.
This body, known as the Council, will be an elective organisation, meaning any eligible person can run for and vote on it.
The Council's main purpose is to review and approve new laws that will, after this process, go to the Potato Monarchs, who have the final say.
The idea was proposed about a month ago by JVTA, and after a referendum today, will come into effect.
Two political parties have already been formed: Potato Democrats, a social democratic political party run by JVTA, and Commune of Thailand, a communist political party run by TAITHELEGEND.
Currently there are plans to hold elections, but a date is yet to be announced.
PMI will host debates and will provide information on Potato politics.
