Pumpkin Republic holds first elections

The Pumpkin Republic held its first elections yesterday.

Seven parties participated in the elections, which are the first democratic elections to occur on Realmplex since August this year. Two parties participated; the FAST! Party, led by Chippy_02026, and the Civil League of Independent Taxpayers (C.L.I.T.), led by CurvedMetal.

The elections were held to choose the president. Under the country's semi-presidential structure, a prime minister also exists, however they are appointed by the president.

Voting closed yesterday, after a one-day voting period. Seven people voted in the election. The C.L.I.T. was victorious, winning 57.1% of the vote, a clear majority. CurvedMetal, the party's leader, was elected president. They selected McTwoPoint0 as the country's prime minister.

CurvedMetal has since been sworn in as president, in a ceremony that, according to WNN, included Pebble (who is currently temporarily banned). The next election is likely to be held about sixty days from now, when the president's current term concludes.
