After a three-day voting period that followed the national election, the re-run of the Bird Land vote has been completed.
Two candidates competed this time around; JVTA of the Potato Democrats, and FlyingSkyCarrot of the UCP.
Six votes were received this election.
FlyingSkyCarrot of the UCP has won the seat of Bird Land, defeating JVTA by a margin of two votes. This moves up the UCP to four seats, effectively giving the government a supermajority reminiscent of what the Potato Democrats achieved in January last year. Rory will most likely be pleased with the result, as will the rest of the coalition.
The Potato Democrats are likely to be devastated at the news. With Bird Land firmly in the orange camp, the party has been effectively knocked out of national politics, with zero seats in Parliament.
The next election will occur in June this year.
