Results of the March 2026 moderator election

Welcome to PMI's coverage of the March 2026 moderator election. Election day has finally arrived, after a turbulent campaign period. One candidate (McTwoPoint0) withdrew, another candidate (LEAN LOVER) was permabanned for transphobia. This left only three candidates, the lowest number ever (surpassing the four we had in August 2024).

Turnout was 32, 16 votes lower than last year.

Below are the results, as certified by the moderation team. Because he was still on the ballot after his permaban, LEAN LOVER's votes will still be displayed.

Round one's results saw Kaleidico win with fifty percent of the vote, practically guaranteeing him the position. Basil, with 25% of the vote, came second. JVTA, with 18.8% of the vote, came third.

LEAN LOVER was eliminated in this round, though it wouldn't have mattered as his votes were discounted. His votes were split between Kaleidico and Basil.

The second round had Kaleidico at 53.1%, practically cementing his victory. Basil came second with 28.1%.

JVTA was eliminated in this round. Five of their votes went to Kaleidico. One of their votes went to Basil.

The final result saw Kaleidico beating Basil with 68.7% of the vote. Kaleidico has been elected.

Kaleidico's vote share is the second-largest percentage in Realmplex's history. It is also the third-largest final vote count (behind Basil's 24 and Imustbemad's 27.)

Analysis

This is, perhaps, the first time the traditional pattern has been broken. Successive moderators tend to have been the opposite of their predecessor. Kaleidico, however, seems to have indicated their intent to continue with the current moderation system.
