JVTA is back as president, and their party, the SDP, is back in power in Jonasland after today's election results.
The results saw the SDP win a majority of two in the parliament, winning 11 seats to the JRM's 9. Incumbent president TheAllSeeingBird was defeated by former president JVTA, who received a unanimous number of votes.
This is the first time the SDP have won an election since October 2023, when the SDP won the presidency through a coalition with the JRM. This will be the first time that the JRM will not be in government.
Campaigning at this election was minimal compared to the previous election, though this is often typical with Jonasland elections considering the country's smaller population and lesser activity, compared to the Potato Empire, a fellow democracy.
JVTA will be inaugurated as president on 25 January 2025 at 12:00pm NZDT. This will be the fourth time they have held the presidency, and the second time they were elected to the position. It is possible that Revden23 will be appointed to their cabinet or even to the vice presidency.
