TaylorWorld abdicates as the Potato King

The World Dynasty is drawing to an end after nearly five years.

TaylorWorld, known in Potato by the regnal name Taylor I, has abdicated the throne of the Potato Empire. He made the announcement today, in a surprise message that followed a brief commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the day construction started on the Potato Temple.

He is expected to be succeeded by Electroranger123 (King Tamati I), who until this moment was solely serving as King of Tajmir, one of the Potato Empire's constituent states. Tamati will ascend to the throne once a coronation ceremony takes place, on a date yet to be confirmed.

"I have been the Potato King for far too long, and I feel that a large part of the reason for Potato's current inactivity is just down to me and my decisions post Great Realmplex War 3," Taylor wrote in his abdication statement. "Jaxolord was king for 6 months. I've sat on the throne for over 4 years, and that long time is starting to show. I was never meant to be king or wanted to be, I became king out of necessity due to the loss of Jackson, and have always intended to hand on the throne once I found the right person."

Taylor rose to the throne on 13 December 2021, after the sudden banning of King Jackson I, his predecessor. Taylor has overseen the Potato Empire through a lengthy period, which has spanned all three Great Realmplex Wars, the Carrot-Potato Conflict, the rise and fall of Potato democracy, and many other major server events. Since his ascending to the throne, there have been two Carrot Kings, four Potato prime ministers, six presidents of Jonasland, and three Pumpkin presidents.

A new era of the server has begun. A statement has not been released by the new king at the time of writing (20:22 NZT, 21 Sep 2026), but one is certainly expected. The prime minister (SpecShark) and any political entities in Potato have yet to comment.
