BasilGaming elected as moderator

BasilGaming has been elected moderator of Realmplex.

Basil was elected after a seven-day election period that followed the impeachment of RoryRDMB from the position. Basil won the most votes before the reassigning of votes under the STV method, with 51.5% of the vote. That share increased to 72.7% in the final count.

Imustbemad came second, starting the count with 24.2% of the vote and finishing with 27.3%. JVTA, despite their popularity prior to the opening of registrations, finished third with 12.1% of the vote. Dukewaffles finished fourth with 12.1% of the vote. All three candidates have since offered their congratulations.

Basil's first acts include unbanning SandwichPress, Clamlum, LEAN LOVER, and EPCNZ (the latter for the duration of the Supremacy War), all of whom were banned from Realmplex under Rory. Basil has also created a new bartering channel for server-wide trading, renamed the ban status channel to "mod log", and announced the likelihood of the appointing of a "deputy moderator".

"I am very happy to have the honor of filling the role of moderator on my favourite Minecraft server to date," Basil stated in a statement made following the election.
